Strawley will become the 20th director of athletics at Elon. She will begin her tenure at Elon on Aug. 1.
Elon University and the Elon Athletics Department will hold a news conference on Friday, July 21 at 11 a.m. to introduce new Director of Athletics Jennifer Strawley to the Elon community.
Strawley was named the 20th Director of Athletics in school history on July 6 and will begin her active duties on Aug. 1 following the retirement of Dave Blank, who served in the role for 17 years.

After spending 12 years at the University of Miami, Strawley will take over a department that has led the CAA in graduation success rate for six consecutive years and has been among the best in the conference in on-field success. Thirteen of Elon’s 17 teams placed in the top four of the CAA standings in 2022-23 and the Phoenix won four conference championships. Both the men’s soccer and football programs earned at-large bids to the NCAA playoffs a year ago.
