SPARKS Peer Educators will host events throughout February to provide education and resources to respect and love one’s body.

Campus Recreations and Wellness’ SPARKS (Students Promoting Awareness, Responsibility, Knowledge, and Success) Peer Educators, Love Your Body Month features a variety of events, programs, and resources. Typically celebrated for a week, this year, events occur throughout February in collaboration with RecWell Fitness Programs and other campus partners.

Throughout the month, activities and events will strive to create a supportive and positive atmosphere on campus that encourages students to redefine their body perceptions and cultivate a positive, healthy mindset that recognizes that  “good” bodies come in all shapes and sizes.

Students will engage in events that will teach them how to respect their bodies and foster a safe and inclusive environment that values and respects all body types, sizes, gender identities, and disabilities.

Join Nutritionist Leslie Williams as she shares what loving our body actually looks like and uncovers myths about healthy eating. The conversation includes BMI, body image, disordered eating and more. All participants will be entered into a drawing for a Love Your Body Month themed wellness basket.
