Jason Husser breaks down N.C. primary election for WFMY News 2 ahead of Super Tuesday

Husser, director of the Elon University Poll and associate professor of political science, offered insights ahead of the state's March 5 primary.

North Carolina voters heading to the polls on Tuesday, March 5, for the state’s primary election may have their attention most focused on the presidential election, but there are plenty of other races on the ballot this March.

Jason Husser, director of the Elon University Poll and an associate professor of political science, spoke with WFMY News 2 ahead of Tuesday’s election, when North Carolina joined more than a dozen other states in holding primaries on what’s dubbed “Super Tuesday.”

Husser explained that it’s hard to say exactly how other state and federal races will play out during primaries such as this one when most are focused on the races at the top of the ballot.

“The thing to know about primary elections is that they are unpredictable, particularly down, ballot, primary elections,” Husser told WFMY journalist Hunter Funk.
