Assistant Vice President of Strategic Partnerships Chris Roush was featured in an episode of The History Channel series “The Mega Brands That Built America, a program focusing on the origin stories of some of the most successful brand names in American history.

The episode, which aired Sunday, June 22 at 9 p.m./8 p.m. Central time (and is available on streaming), will focuses on the hardware store battle between Home Depot and Lowe’s. Roush covered Home Depot and Lowe’s during his time as a reporter for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Bloomberg News. His 1999 book “Inside Home Depot How One Company Revolutionized an Industry Through the Relentless Pursuit of Growth,” takes readers “behind the scenes to discover the secrets of success” of the company.

“The battle between these two companies was fierce during that time, and remains so to this day,” said Roush. “And how they revolutionized the hardware store industry and changed retailing during the 1980s and 1990s is a great business lesson that many have studied. It’s also full of great characters and business strategies.”
