Jason Husser featured on Triangle Business Journal podcast

Husser was featured on the Bottom Line Triangle podcast on Oct. 8 alongside Gary Salamido, CEO of the North Carolina Chamber

Jason Husser, professor of political science and public policy, and director of the Elon Poll was recently featured on the Triad Business Journal’s podcast “Bottom Line Triangle.”

The episode focused on what’s topping the list of concerns across the state: inflation, housing and childcare, the property tax amendment on the ballot, permitting reform, and why data centers have become one of the most contentious questions in economic development. Part of the discussion touched on results from the Elon University Poll in September.

“What I’ve found over the last four years, more so than any other time is people are really focused on the economy, particularly inflation,” Husser said. “I think the level of inflation we saw post-pandemic is still on people’s minds as if we are in the same inflationary period that, say, we were in ’21, ’22. So inflation is down compared to what we saw peak post-pandemic, but people aren’t feeling it.”
