2026 Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony postponed

The induction ceremony has been postponed due to anticipated inclement weather.

Elon Athletics announced Thursday that its 2026 Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony, originally scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 31, has been postponed due to anticipated inclement weather in the Triad region. The decision was made with the safety of participants, families and the Elon community as the top priority.

The ceremony will be rescheduled for a later date, which will be announced once finalized.

“We’re disappointed that weather concerns have necessitated a postponement of our Hall of Fame induction ceremony,” Director of Athletics Jennifer Strawley said. “However, the safety of our guests and honorees is paramount. We look forward to celebrating this exceptional class of inductees at a future date.”

The 2025-26 Sports Hall of Fame class was announced in October and includes six outstanding Phoenix whose contributions have had a lasting impact on Elon Athletics: Chase Austin (Baseball), Caitlin Beeler (Cross Country, Track & Field), Nicole Dennion (Women’s Soccer), Clint Irwin (Men’s Soccer), Jordan Johnston (Women’s Tennis) and Mike Kennedy (Baseball). These honorees will be officially inducted at the rescheduled ceremony.
