Study Abroad in Brazil, July 3-24

Applications are currently being accepted for GST207IS: SL: Social Development in Brazil, which takes place in Minas Gerais, Brazil, July 3-25. Activities include basic lessons in Brazilian Portuguese, training in capoeira (a martial-art-based cultural performance), and discussions with local professors and experts on development strategies. This is a service-learning course, where students will spend 30-40 hours over the course of the 3 weeks providing direct service at an art, retraining, and conservation NGO or public university hospital. Ecological and historical excursions in the Brazilian Sertao are also included. The course is also relatively inexpensive ($2685 including summer tuition)!
