Interactive Media graduate students active in world’s OneWebDay

Students in Elon’s new interactive media master’s program are producing content and taking a leadership role in the fourth annual OneWebDay observance on Sept. 22. Elon is hosting North Carolina’s events for the day, which has attracted a global network of partner organizations and individual activists committed to broadening the public’s awareness of Internet and Web issues while deepening a culture of participation in building a Web that works for everyone.

Elon men win in first cross country meet ever held on Elon campus

The Phoenix men's cross country team took first and the women's team took second in the inaugural Elon Invitational cross country meet held Sept. 12 on the new course developed on South Campus. The men's race covered 8 kilometers and the women's race was on a 5K course. The race was a chance for Elon athletics to tune up for the Southern Conference championship meet, which will be hosted by Elon Oct. 31.

Alumni Board holds fall meeting on Elon campus

Heading for Homecoming 2009 (Oct. 23-25), Elon’s Alumni Board was on campus Sept. 17-18 for its fall meeting. Attendees focused on planning for an expanded homecoming program and discussed next steps in efforts as diverse as the use of social media and ways to increase alumni financial support through the Ever Elon Campaign.

Elon alumna Audrey Seagraves ’02 named Tech Awards Laureate

A program directed by Elon School of Communications 2002 graduate Audrey Seagraves has received a prestigious international technology award. The online "Fair Wage Guide," managed by Seagraves, is a tool to assist millions of workers in the developing world who live below the poverty level.
