The April 11 discussion in Whitley Auditorium moderated by Marcie Cohen Ferris of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill focused on the hit PBS show and its portrayal of the food, culture and communities of eastern North Carolina. 

The three winners of the contest, endowed by the late Philip L. Carret, were celebrated at an April 10 banquet. 

 

The latest survey by the Elon University Poll conducted March 30-April 1, 2019, asked residents to weigh on a range of potential risks, asking them to say how unsafe each made them feel.

In this column distributed by the Elon University Writers Syndicate, Associate Professor of Communications Amanda Sturgill draws from her research to look at the potential impact from a defamation lawsuit by former Congressman Devin Nunes that seeks to identify anonymous Twitter users. The column was published by The Burlington Times-News. 

Fair, professor of public health studies and human service studies and Watts/Thompson Professor, is one of eight Elon faculty members featured this year in "Passionately Curious," the annual Elon University President's Report. 

Schrage becomes the 18th head men's basketball coach at Elon and comes to the university from the Ohio State University. 

The April 11 event will be a moderated discussion about food, sustainability and economic development featuring chef Vivian Howard of the award-winning PBS show, “A Chef’s Life,” and Cynthia Hill, the show’s director.

The gathering in the Schar Center provided the opportunity for hundreds of Elon leaders and supporters to learn more about the campaign and its priorities. 

The seven-year fundraising campaign is the largest in the university’s history, with a central focus on expanding financial support for students.

Schrage comes to Elon from Ohio State, where he has served for the last two seasons as an assistant coach under Chris Holtmann.
