The associate professor of communications published his new text in an easy-to-read, you-can-do-it tone with one clear objective: helping students land the job they seek.

The WSOC-TV reporter was recognized as one of Charlotte’s “10 local media minds to watch in 2018.”

The vice president of marketing catalog at Atlantic Records has expanded his successful website and podcast – both titled “Washed Up Emo” – into a “documentation of stories” from artists and individuals involved in the emotionally charged musical genre that rose from the punk and hardcore scene.

Associate Professor Barbara Miller Gaither collaborated with Elon graduate MaryClaire Schulz ’17 and University of North Carolina faculty member Lucinda Austin to examine the relationship between corporate social responsibility and social change. 

The associate professor of communications was recently featured in a blog post titled “Corporate environmental ads are more persuasive when concern is high” on the website for the Arthur Page Center for Integrity in Public Communication.

During the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication’s 2017 national convention, School of Communications faculty members presented research, shared professional experiences, and participated in topical discussions and educational sessions.

This semester's edition marks the 16th in the history of the Elon Journal, the nation’s first and only undergraduate research journal in communications.

The journalism major will participate in a 10-week investigative reporting assignment at Arizona State University this summer, examining hate crimes, hate groups and their targets and victims in the United States.
