The annual Colonnades Neighborhood Carnival will take place Thursday, April 19 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Colonnades Quad. 

Elon Academy Assistant Director John Pickett presented information about the academic and non-cognitive skills necessary in the college-planning process to enhance college access and success efforts.  

Elon Academy Assistant Director Jenni Johnson participated on a panel discussing how to support undocumented students in higher education.  

The Colonnades and Danieley Center Neighborhoods are hosting a Job & Internship Expo Prep Session and Workshop for students.

Environmental Studies graduate, David Munoz, co-authored a recent publication in the Herpetological Conservation and Biology Journal titled "Use of Wildlife Detector Dogs to Study Eastern Box Turtle (Terrapene Carolina Carolina) Populations."

Iris Versmissen '10 was recently awarded the North Carolina Science Teachers Association Outstanding Elementary School Student Teacher of the Year Award. Versmissen was an elementary education Teaching Fellow with a Spanish minor.

Thirty-eight new teacher candidates were inducted into the Teacher Education Program on Wednesday, April 28. Current student teachers Liz Seckerson and Becky Fogle provided inspiring words to both welcome and challenge the newest cohort of prospective teachers as they begin the transition from student to teacher. Jared Williams, a 2009 Elon M.Ed. graduate and Rockingham County Teacher of the Year, offered insight into the transition from teacher to teacher leader.
