Having watched physical education majors struggle with engaging students in a meaningful reflective process while teaching cooperative learning and adventure-based learning, the associate professor of wellness and her co-authors developed the "Sunday afternoon drive" debrief model to provide the framework for a student-centered reflection for upper elementary through university-age students. 

 

The annual event offered academic, clinical and career guidance to 200 students from 13 of North Carolina's Doctor of Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Assistant programs. 

 

Catherine M. Bush, assistant professor of biology at Elon, and colleagues published an analysis of low-copy nuclear genes in the current issue of the Nordic Journal of Botany.

 

This March 23 oral presentation by the professor of biology and environmental studies communicated the results of a five-year study examining the role of fish predators in preventing the establishment and spread of the invasive light bulb tunicate on submerged hard surfaces at the Duke University Marine Laboratory in Beaufort, N.C.

Three faculty members and six undergraduate researchers from the Department of Biology represented Elon University at the N.C. Academy of Science conference at the University of North Carolina Wilmington on March 22-23, 2019.

The assistant professor of psychology presented motor development research at the biennial conference of the Society for Research in Child Development, held in Baltimore, Maryland.

Aaron Trocki, assistant professor of mathematics, presented his research at the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education in Las Vegas on March 18-22, 2019.

Associate Professor of Mathematics Chad Awtrey, math major Peter Komlofske '19, and alumni Christian Reese '18 and Janae Williams '18 have published their article "On Galois p-adic fields of p-power degree" in the most recent issue of the JP Journal of Algebra, Number Theory, and Applications.

Rozana Carducci, associate professor of education and graduate director of the Master of Arts in Higher Education program, co-edited a book recently published by Stylus Publishing.
