The $7,500 Leadership Prize supports sustained, mentored and community-based research projects undertaken by Elon undergraduates.

Elon’s chapter of the honor organization virtually initiated new members this past fall.

The Doherty Emerging Professor of Entrepreneurial Leadership received the Social Entrepreneurship SIG Award for Excellence in Teaching from the U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

The innovative program supported by the grant will immerse students from underserved populations in the study of freedom, citizenship and democracy and culminate in an annual symposium for the public showcasing their work.

The Harlem International Film Festival and Columbia University’s Zuckerman Neuroscience Institute will host a free screening of the 25-minute film that highlights Timothy Jackson, a formerly incarcerated California gang member turned successful entrepreneur. The film delves into Jackson’s journey after spending nearly nine years in prison.

The ranking comes from Poets & Quants, a business education outlet that released its survey results on Jan. 12.
