The daylong workshop, co-sponsored by the Isabella Cannon Global Education Center and the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, was designed for faculty and staff who teach or lead study away programs, though it was open to anyone interested in strengthening global learning.

This year's fair will feature Elon study away programs in more than 30 countries.

Rubeck, a beloved professor of performing arts, died in May.

The event is free and open to all Elon students. Faculty and staff are also welcome to attend.

Attorneys, scholars and advocates will examine asylum, immigration policy, family immigration and other issues during “A Changing Landscape: Immigration Law in the 21st Century” on Sept. 25 at Elon Law’s downtown Greensboro campus.

The ceremony, part of New Student Orientation, formally introduces new students to Elon’s Honor Code and calls on them to consider how those values will guide their decisions in the classroom, across campus and beyond the university.

Jewish Life at Elon welcomed the incoming class of 2030 with a shabbat dinner and Jewish activity fair. Rabbi Maor Greene delivered a teaching on how the Jewish community at Elon supports one another. Representatives from Hillel, Chabad, AEPi, AEPhi and Hebrew Club also attended the event.

Surrounded by family members, faculty and staff Under the Oaks, members of the Class of 2030 and new transfer students heard messages about resilience, community and the responsibility that comes with an Elon education.

The Class of 2030 arrived at Elon on Friday, Aug. 21, ready for new experiences, but bringing with them reminders of the story that brought them to the university.

The school, which opened on Aug. 18, is North Carolina's only university-based private school for children with dyslexia.
