Tony Amoruso, assistant professor of accounting, and Neeraj Gupta, assistant professor of finance, are featured in the “Top 75 Public Companies” article appearing in the August 2011 issue of Business North Carolina. They compiled the publication’s “Top 75” list, an annual ranking of the largest publicly traded companies based in the state.

Thirteen artists interpret the urban experience through painting, printmaking, mixed media installations, photography and video installations.

Sang Nam, an assistant professor in the School of Communications, was awarded the Distinguished Service Award and Tablet of Honor from the Minister of Education, Science and Technology of Korea during the summer.

For the ninth year in a row, Elon is ranked among the nation's 376 top colleges and universities by The Princeton Review. The 2012 college guide, released Aug. 1, also ranks Elon’s study abroad program as #4 in the nation, and Elon’s theater program as #15.

President Leo M. Lambert and senior staff members previewed the 2011-2012 academic year on Aug. 18 for university employees. In two separate meetings, administrators provided a summary of recent work and initiatives planned for the coming months.

Paul Parsons, dean of the School of Communications, formally received the national Administrator of the Year award at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication conference on Aug. 10 in St. Louis.

Thanks to the generosity of faculty, staff and other donors, Ever Elon: The Campaign for the Future of Our University has passed the $95 million mark toward the $100 million goal. This historic campaign, the largest in Elon’s history and the first to focus primarily on endowment building, has transformed student learning and facilities and added significant resources for faculty development.

Amy M. Johnson, an assistant professor in the Department of History and Geography, presented her research at the Harriet Tubman Summer Institute 2011: Slavery, Memory, and Citizenship conference hosted by York University in Toronto from August 21-27.

Thomas Erdmann, professor of music, had three 6,000-word articles featured on the cover of the September/October 2011 issue of Saxophone Journal.

Victoria Tillson, assistant professor of Italian, participated at the Canadian Society for Italian Studies annual conference in Venice, Italy June 24-26.
