Five faculty members were honored on Monday, Aug. 19, for their excellent work in Elon College, the College of Arts & Sciences.  

The chair of the Communication Design Department served as the lead of a volunteer staff of 28 photographers and videographers, chronicling a 12-day international event in West Virginia.

The professor of cinema and television arts offered her insights during an online segment that looked at how to have conversations with your family about understanding what is and is not fake news.

The annual institute attracts instructors from across the state and country to discuss topics relating to newspapers, yearbooks, magazines, online content and broadcast journalism.

Jeffrey Carpenter, associate professor of education and director of the Teaching Fellows program, published the article in the peer-reviewed journal Teaching and Teacher Education. 

Chunco, associate professor of environmental studies, will spend the next two years as the Japheth E. Rawls professor for Undergraduate Research in Science.

Faculty and staff attended two presentations by retired North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Eric Tellefsen about preparing for an active shooter situation.

Sinn, an assistant professor of history, joined the Elon faculty in 2016 and is also director of Elon’s Jewish Studies program.

The student-run agency’s multiplatform awards span eight contest categories, highlighting work created for five real-world clients during the 2018-19 school year.
