Kirsten Doehler, associate professor of statistics, presented on “Diversity-Related Projects in an Introductory Statistics Course” at the 10th International Conference on Teaching Statistics held July 8-13 in Kyoto, Japan. 

Carmen Monico, an assistant professor of human service studies, was among thousands of scholars from around the world who attended and presented at the XIX World Congress of Sociology held in July in Canada.

Kaye Usry, instructor in political science and policy studies, drew from her research into how personal trauma may impact political and civic involvement.

Their presentation included an overview of Undergraduate Music programs in the U.S., suggestions for international students who are interested in auditioning for college-level music programs and examples of careers opportunities with an undergraduate music degree. 

Wendy Scott, a former dean at Mississippi College School of Law and a nationally recognized doctrinal law professor with experience at Tulane Law and N.C. Central School of Law, has been named Elon Law’s new associate dean for academic success.

The associate professor of management information systems co-presented a paper exploring the use of technology and its impact on women empowerment in the direct selling channel.   

Enrique Armijo, associate dean for academic affairs and associate professor at Elon Law, writes for The Conversation about judicial independence any Supreme Court nominee might demonstrate once confirmed by the U.S. Senate.

The research examined the impact of leadership programming and experiential learning activities on students' reslience and leadership efficacy.
