Elon University Los Angeles summer students gathered with alumni and special guests for an end-of-summer semester celebration at historic Sony Pictures Studios.

Moreau, a lecturer in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, was recognized for her poem “Break the Hen."

Clark, professor of mathematics, attended the Mathematical Association of America's MathFest and, as outgoing chair of the Committee on Minicourses, monitored one of minicourses offered there. He also presented a short paper on the use of animations in multivariable calculus.

Six students and two staff members engaged around the theme, "The ties that bind."

This year’s annual conference was held in Philadelphia and provided Elon faculty with an opportunity to showcase their areas of research, interest and expertise.

Ayesh Awad '24, Pagnapech Ngoun '26, Murilo Ferreira Lopes '27, Nicolas Alvarez '27 and five faculty Emily Elrod, Kristen Mazur, Brittany Riggs, Hwayeon Ryu and Aaron Trocki presented at MathFest, the annual meeting of the Mathematical Association of America on August 7-10, 2024 in Indianapolis.

Lund, the dean of the School of Health Sciences, shared her expertise during a panel discussion focused on technological advances in education and health care.

Elon’s Office of Information Technology held a summer retreat focused on understanding how AI could potentially be integrated into campus operations, exploring tools like Microsoft Copilot, MagicSchool and ChatGPT to enhance productivity and teaching. The event highlighted AI’s potential to streamline work and personalize education.
