The social gathering space for Elon fans is made possible through generous gifts from Glen Raven Inc. and Elon Trustee Allen E. Gant Jr. and his wife, Denise. The club's official opening is for the Elon men's basketball game against the University of North Carolina on Friday, Nov. 9.

The building dedication during Homecoming offered the opportunity to express gratitude for supporters of the project including Elon parents Jim and Beth Sankey of Charlotte, N.C. The building is named for Jim Sankey's father, a business leader in Canton, Ohio, who passed away in 2013. 

The gathering for Elon alumni, parents and friends at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts shared in the announcement that Haya Ajjan has been selected as the first Sheldon and Christine Gordon Professor in Entrepreneurship. 

Halftime during Saturday's football game against the University of Richmond offered an opportunity for Elon student-athletes to honor Elon's newly inaugurated president and to announced the results of the Honor President Book Drive. 

The official groundbreaking offered an opportunity to recognize the contributions of donors to the 80-room inn adjacent to the Koury Business Center that will open next fall. 

During a donor appreciation event on the arena's main floor on Friday, Elon celebrated the generosity and vision of the nearly 30 families, individuals and businesses whose gifts made the convocation center possible. 

The generous gift from Elon Trustee Louis DeJoy and his wife, Dr. Aldona Wos, of Greensboro, North Carolina, will assist students with exceptional ability and high financial need from Title I schools in Guilford County.

The gifts from Don Chaplin and Andy Hunt, of Burlington, North Carolina, were inspired by Elon’s commitment to building an inclusive and welcoming campus community.
