Elon University has released its President's List and Dean's List academic recognitions for the 2015 spring semester.

Staff, faculty and students shared thoughts in a Friday program hosted by the Center for Race, Ethnicity and Diversity Education that concluded with handwritten notes of support to a South Carolina church where nine people were killed days earlier because of their race.

Elon University's Center for Leadership, in coordination with two community partners, hosted the Alamance Youth Leadership Academy from June 14-17, 2015, to encourage local children to make a difference in their schools.

Dozens of Alamance County high school students were introduced to the campus community in the 9th annual College Coffee held June 15 in honor of the Elon Academy.

Comprised of Elon University faculty across a range of departments and schools, including business, communications, computer science, law and political science, speakers will discuss their research and the law and policy concerns they encounter.

Journalism students paced Elon in a prestigious national contest open to college students from more than 100 schools accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications. 

The double-major in physics and English will be a writer for Scientific American magazine after successfully competing in the AAAS Mass Media Science & Engineering Fellows Program.
