Elon University was selected to present recent advancements in LGBTQIA inclusion as part of Harvard University’s Alumni Speaker Series in Higher Education.

 

The journalism and political science double major will participate in a prestigious 10-week investigative reporting assignment at Arizona State University in summer 2015.

Graduate students in Elon University’s Physician Assistant Studies program learned Tuesday from faculty and staff across campus how to create meaningful relationships with underserved and vulnerable populations.

Students address and approach poverty issues through service-learning projects with two local organizations: Sustainable Alamance and the United Way.

Students Alex Welgehausen, a first-year and flute student of Linda Cykert, and Nicole Hanrahan, a junior and clarinet student of Thomas Turanchik, presented a holiday concert on Sunday, Dec. 7 at Blakey Hall in Elon.

The university has been recognized as a national leader in service-learning and civic engagement, with the federal Corporation for National & Community Service commending Elon in four areas of service.

The second annual event hosted by the university's "It Takes a Village" Project featured talks, a poster presentation, and musical selections by children involved in a program aimed at helping youth overcome reading difficulties.
