In Convocation remarks to the Class of 2020, one of North Carolina’s top philanthropic leaders encouraged Elon Law’s newest students to never forget the fortunes of fate that brought them to law school or the responsibilities they have to serve the public with a legal education.

Wendy Scott, a former dean at Mississippi College School of Law and a nationally recognized doctrinal law professor with experience at Tulane Law and N.C. Central School of Law, has been named Elon Law’s new associate dean for academic success.

John L. Cook, Marissa C. Meredith and Sara L. Ochs join the law school's Legal Method & Communication Program beginning in July for a two-year fellowship to teach legal writing to incoming Elon Law students.

Long Courtroom on April 11 before lawyers for a convicted drug trafficker argued that a search warrant in his case was constitutionally defective, while a separate case had attorneys seek a new civil trial for their client - a drunk bicyclist injured by a driver under the influence of marijuana. 

The longtime associate dean for experiential education and leadership stepped down from Elon Law in January after joining The Citadel in South Carolina as assistant provost for leadership and department head of Leadership Studies.

Abby Deese, a reference librarian at Elon University School of Law, travels to Illinois in April for professional development and networking opportunities at the 2018 American Association of Law Librarians Leadership Academy.

Professor Sue Liemer and Drew Simshaw, a Legal Method & Communication Fellow, took part in the 112th Annual Meeting of the Association of American Law Schools, whose conference theme of "Access to Justice" focused on ways to ensure equal justice for all.

David S. Levine joined the Elon University School of Law faculty in 2009 and quickly forged an international reputation for his legal research into the areas of lawmaking, trade secrecy, and the ways in which corporations and governments use the law to control access to intellectual property.
