Twenty-five teams of law students representing 16 law schools participated in the fourth annual Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition at Elon University School of Law on March 28 and 29.

Elon Law and MBA students met with top business and law leaders in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Cuba and the Cayman Islands through collaborative international business courses.

Leaders in law and legal education shared insights about one of the nation’s most significant civil rights attorneys at Elon Law’s 2014 Martin Luther King, Jr. forum.

Elon University’s schools of law and health sciences hosted a forum about the intricacies of determining individual “capacity” in legal and medical contexts.  

The Small Business & Entrepreneurship Clinic, In-House Counsel Externship Program and Semester-in-Practice Externship Program add to the law school's array of hands-on learning opportunities. 

Volume five, Number 2 of the Elon Law Review includes articles examining humanitarian law in Sri Lanka, genocide in Srebrenica, the interplay between corruption and human rights violations, and issues in U.S. immigration law with regard to domestic violence and sexual orientation. Remarks from Angolan human rights activist Rafael Marques de Morais are featured.

On November 1, law scholars from across the country participated in an Elon Law Review symposium titled, “The Implications of United States v. Windsor and Hollingsworth v. Perry for Family Law, Constitutional Law, Tax Law, and Society.” 

Elon University School of Law and the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business at Elon University have established a four-year JD/MBA program. The JD/MBA program gives students the opportunity to earn both their juris doctor and master of business administration degrees in less time, and at a lower cost, than if both degrees were pursued separately. 

Volume 5, Issue 1 of the Elon Law Review examines the life, views and impacts of Albion Tourgée, the lead attorney for Homer Plessy in the historic United States Supreme Court case Plessy v. Ferguson (1896).

The forum included presentations by nationally prominent scholars and practitioners of immigration law, covering topics such as gender-based asylum and the impact on immigrants of the recent U.S. Supreme Court term.
