Featuring scholars from seven United States law schools, the Nov. 16 forum, which was planned to be the first in an ongoing series of works-in-progress workshops and conferences, supported the development of scholarship in an increasingly significant area of intellectual property law.

On Friday, October 26, 2012, beginning at 9 a.m., the Elon Law Review will present a symposium examining First Amendment issues resulting from the interplay between religion and government. The symposium, approved for 5.75 CLE credit hours, will take place at Elon University School of Law, 201 N. Greene St., Greensboro, N.C.

Elon Law Professor Robert Parrish will lead a discussion among law faculty and students on Thursday, September 27, in Room 206 of the law school on the following topic: "Fisher v. Texas and the Future of Race as a Criterion in University Admissions."

The Intramural Moot Court Competition at Elon University School of Law will be held between September 24 and October 1.

The program will serve low-income elderly residents of Guilford County, N.C. free of charge.

The Humanitarian Immigration Law Clinic at Elon Law hosted its second annual Immigration Law Seminar on May 22, featuring presentations by representatives of the Guilford County Public Defender's Office, Human Rights First, the Immigration Center for Women and Children and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

The Elon Law preceptor program provides students with a unique opportunity to engage with members of the legal community. The program pairs first-year law students with attorneys who volunteer to serve as mentors and coaches.

The Elon Law Review recently published volume three, issue two, featuring scholarly articles written about transparency, secrecy and the Internet, and volume four, issue one, featuring articles and essays on various legal topics.

The 2012 Symposium of the Elon Law Review will examine, “Emerging Issues in First Amendment Jurisprudence: Interpreting the Relationship Between Religion and the State in the Modern Age." Proposals for participation in the October 26 symposium should be submitted by July 15.
