In the same week that Queens University of Charlotte makes its historic debut in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, visits to both campuses by college counselors, and two trips to Elon by Queens administrators and staff, illustrated the continued collaboration between both institutions.

Faculty and staff from Elon University and Queens University of Charlotte convened on the Queens campus on Feb. 27, 2026, to continue merger integration and planning and to hear from four prominent Charlotte executives who shared stories of collaboration and anticipation of reinforced educational resources that will drive the region's future. 

Nearly 80 faculty and staff met face-to-face at Elon University to shape academic, cultural and operational plans for a merger that will enhance the student experience on both campuses and expand educational offerings in the Charlotte region.

Seats are limited for a two-week camp in July for rising high school juniors and seniors who will live on campus while challenging themselves academically and preparing for life as a college student.

Composed of faculty, staff and administrators at both institutions, the committee will envision the future of a merged institution and provide opportunities for members of campus communities to share ideas for enhancing future student experiences. 

The team will be co-chaired by Jeff Stein, Elon’s newly appointed chief integration officer and executive vice president, and Pamela Davies, president emerita and senior strategy and integration executive at Queens.

The professor of exercise science begins leadership in June of a signature program that nurtures the intellectual pursuits of top Elon University students.

A daylong gathering on Elon University's campus included a campus tour for the guests from Queens as well as a series of roundtable discussions.

Elon University President Connie Ledoux Book and Queens University of Charlotte Acting President Jesse Cureton describe in campus messages on Oct. 23, 2025, how "our colleagues are forming new bonds and reaffirming the values that unite us: student-centered learning, a commitment to academic excellence and a deep history of advancing our communities."

Listening sessions, town halls and a feedback form have generated hundreds of comments and ideas that inspire the administrators creating a formal agreement to unify resources and expand student learning opportunities at both institutions.
