Fifty-nine percent of Elon students in the Class of 2016 made a gift to Elon as part of the senior class giving campaign, raising more than $20,990 for areas of campus most important to them.

The evening before their Commencement ceremony, graduate students in Elon University's Interactive Media master's program hosted the annual iMedia Capstone Exhibition, presenting their yearlong projects to professionals, faculty and staff, family and friends.

Hosted by the Office of Alumni Engagement, the Wednesday program gave seniors a final moment before Commencement to talk with the faculty and staff mentors who shaped their campus experiences.

Katherine Shafer ’15, an international studies major from Port Jefferson, N.Y., will spend 11 months teaching English in Taiwan as part of a federal program that promotes mutual goodwill between people of the United States and people of other nations. 

Seven School of Communications faculty and staff members attended the 2016 Broadcast Education Association’s Festival of Media Arts in Las Vegas, where a recent interactive media graduate and cinema and television arts major were presented with awards.

During the May 3 awards ceremony, Jeremy Recoon ’16 received the Major of the Year Award and alumnus Christopher Bayly ’08 served as the evening’s guest speaker, highlighting his career in the sports consulting industry.

Brandon Landreth ’11 has been able to design and implement weekly lessons on health, wellness and oral hygiene for elementary students in rural Greene County thanks to a fellowship.
