In this column distributed by the Elon University Writers Syndicate, Dave Gammon provides historical context for the recent eruptions of the Kilauea volcano in Hawaii. 

Elon faculty members led a variety of workshops for local K-12 teachers on Wednesday, June 13, designed to help them integrate unique science, technology and mathematics concepts in their classes. 

The presentation highlighted the ethnobotanical work of Bush, adjunct assistant professor of biology and research fellow at the Center for New North Carolinians at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

A record 11 Elon students and alums have been awarded Fulbright grants this spring to teach English or conduct research, adding to Elon’s reputation as a top producer of Fulbright award winners.

The university's top award comes with $20,000 to support and celebrate academic and creative achievements. 

Ten alumni who graduated in the past 10 years were recognized with the Top 10 Under 10 Alumni Awards on April 14 for their professional success, service as difference-makers in their communities and loyal support of Elon.

The presentation highlighted two projects of Catherine Bush, adjunct assistant professor of biology and research fellow at the Center for New North Carolinians at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. 

Five faculty members and eleven undergraduate researchers from the Biology and Environmental Studies departments represented Elon University at the Association of Southeastern Biologists conference at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on March 28-30, 2018.

APOS is the only multidisciplinary organization in the United States dedicated to researching and treating the psychosocial aspects of cancer, and these students were among the few undergraduate researchers to present their work at this conference.

Assistant Professor of Biology Jen Hamel gave an invited seminar as part of UNC-Asheville's Biology Department Seminar Series on Thursday, March 22nd.
