Brooke Barnett, Elon’s associate provost for academic and inclusive excellence and professor of communications, has been named dean of the College of Communication at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. She will begin her duties there on June 1.

The student-run news organization was honored with six awards, including four first-place finishes, and two School of Communications graduates were recognized for their professional journalism efforts.

A group of nearly two dozen School of Communications students received a behind-the-scenes look at the operations of the NHL organization and its arena.

The Atlantic Records executive was lauded for his “entrepreneurial passion and pursuit” at a Nov. 2 luncheon held during Elon University’s Homecoming weekend.

Associate Professors Derek Lackaff, Phillip Motley and Amanda Sturgill attended the 2018 International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning conference, which attracts international scholars and educators to share recent work and to discuss how to advance the future of higher education.
