School of Communications

Members of the “Facilities and Venue Management” course, offered by the Department of Sport and Event Management, and Student United Way chapter volunteered this semester with several United Way of Alamance County events.

The School of Communications chapter of Lambda Pi Eta hosted a May 4 induction ceremony, with Associate Professor Naeemah Clark serving as the event’s keynote speaker.

Seven School of Communications faculty and staff members attended the 2016 Broadcast Education Association’s Festival of Media Arts in Las Vegas, where a recent interactive media graduate and cinema and television arts major were presented with awards.

During the May 3 awards ceremony, Jeremy Recoon ’16 received the Major of the Year Award and alumnus Christopher Bayly ’08 served as the evening’s guest speaker, highlighting his career in the sports consulting industry.

The Sport and Event Management Department hosted its spring 2016 Project Palooza, displaying student work conducted during the semester.

A strategic communications and international studies major conducted research on global internet leaders' plans to reach everyone, everywhere. 

This semester's edition marks the 13th in the history of the Elon Journal, the nation’s first and only undergraduate research journal in communications.

Alex Ofori ’17 participated in a four-day multimedia workshop at North Carolina A&T State University, receiving instruction from experienced faculty members and industry professionals.

Students and faculty members of the School of Communications participated in the 23rd annual Spring Undergraduate Research Forum, sharing their scholarship with the Elon University community.
