Tom Nelson, an associate professor in the School of Communications, is living for part of July 2011 in a campsite for people displaced by flooding in central North Dakota.

Communications assistant professor Sang Nam presented his paper "Cultural Pluralism in Bartok's Dance Suite" at the 2011 International Conference of the College Music Society July 4 in Seoul, South Korea.

"NBC Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams, who also serves as national chair of Elon University's School of Communications advisory board, was named the New York State Broadcasters Association's Broadcaster of the Year.

If you walk around the offices of Martin Chase Productions, a small subsidiary of the Walt Disney Company, you'll see office labels in the shape of Mickey Mouse ears, you'll notice posters from several popular Disney movies, and you'll pass by animations drawn on the wall. It's the dream environment for junior media arts & entertainment major Asha Wilson, a lifelong Disney fan and intern with the production company.

Communications assistant professors Gerald Gibson and Ray Johnson will be among 20 other Broadcast Education Association faculty members from across the country to participate in the selective two-day Warner Bros. Media Lab July 14-15 in Burbank, Calif.
