A DVD created by Elon faculty members Brooke Barnett, Alexa Darby, Mary Knight-McKenna and Ken Calhoun has been accepted for distribution by First Light Video.

For the fourth consecutive year, a team from Elon University has been recognized for its performance in the prestigious Bateman Competition, which annually showcases the work of public relations students around the country. Elon was one of 16 teams to receive an honorable mention in the 2010 competition.

World Wide Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee and Vint Cerf, widely known as a "father of the Internet" and Google's Chief Internet Evangelist, were among the more than 60 speakers leading more than 20 different events at the three-day FutureWeb conference in Raleigh, N.C., April 28-30. The event was organized by the Imagining the Internet Center of Elon's School of Communications, and involved more than 40 Elon students, faculty and staff.

The Pendulum, Elon's award-winning weekly newspaper, will have several executive staff positions open starting in the fall semester.

How often do you notice the products that appear in your favorite television shows? And what do you think about those brands? Alex Walton ’10 sought to answer those questions, as well as gauge the opinions of broadcasting professionals, in his study of product placements in reality television shows. His work is the fourth in a series of E-net profiles to showcase Elon undergraduate research during CELEBRATE! 2010.

Student leaders from a variety of academic disciplines were honored April 29 at the annual Omicron Delta Kappa awards ceremony in Whitley Auditorium, an annual ceremony that coincides with CELEBRATE! week. ODK recognizes students who have provided outstanding leadership in their junior or senior years, and who have maintained high academic performance.

The annual Spring Undergraduate Research Forum on April 27, 2010, promoted and celebrated work from more than 100 students who made presentations about their scholarship in disciplines as diverse as psychology, exercise science, chemistry, public relations and economics.

A fundraiser to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Burlington and the Multiple Sclerosis Society caught the attention of local media over the weekend, with the Times-News in Burlington and WFMY News 2 in Greensboro covering the event organized by students in a Leisure and Sport Management course.
