Anderson Cooper doesn't think his work will necessarily change the world, but for the acclaimed CNN and CBS journalist, that isn't the point. His value, he says, is in "bearing witness to what's going on." Cooper visited Elon on April 7 with a trip that culminated in a special afternoon lecture to 2,400 people in Alumni Gym.

CNN journalist Anderson Cooper spent much of his visit to Elon meeting with students in the School of Communications, discussing the practices and ethics of journalism and the rapidly evolving technologies that are changing the way people access and use information.

The Advisory Board for the School of Communications made its spring visit to campus Friday, April 3, and the discussion focused on the new master's in Interactive Media, the changing curriculum and the next strategic plan for the university.

Ligia Cravo, MSW, senior program officer with the William Randolph Hearst Foundations, met with university students, faculty and administrators on April 1 in an effort to evaluate Elon for an expansion of the Hearst Scholars program in the School of Communications.

Three faculty members in the School of Communications were recognized for their outstanding work this academic year during the spring Advisory Board luncheon April 3.
