Guided by her Colombian roots, Camila Montoya Posada ’27 finds purpose in connection — celebrating culture, community, and the power of belonging.

For Edward Hernandez ’27, legacy is rooted in family, heritage and community. From leading LHU and El Centro to mentoring future scholars, his Elon journey reflects the power of giving back and the importance of celebrating Hispanic and Latinx voices.

Throughout her time at Elon, Assistant Dean Vanessa Bravo, an administrator and professor in the School of Communications, not only studies relationships but has worked to foster them and a sense of belonging at the university.

Elon University honors the impactful histories, thriving culture and important culture of the Latinx and Hispanic community in the United States.

Celebrations such as the First-Generation Stole Ceremony, Celebremos!: Graduates Take Flight, Donning of the Kente, and Lavender Graduation highlighted the achievements of students who embraced, and were embraced by, communities of support throughout their college experience.
