Elon community members participated in a discussion about ongoing social issues and King’s solutions. The gathering was part of Elon University's lineup of events to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 

Winter Term 2019 will offer students a broad array of opportunities to explore these themes throughout the next month.

Service opportunities, gatherings and other special programs at Elon during January will commemorate the life and work of the late civil rights leader. 

The annual ranking by the Institute of International Education again names Elon University the nation’s top master’s level institution in the number of students studying abroad. 

The Sept. 24 event drew more than 100 people from Elon and the surrounding community to discuss different approaches to addressing immigration with the discussion guided by resources from the National Issues Forums.

The celebration will feature events through Oct. 15 and is organized by Elon's El Centro de Español and focuses on the histories, cultures and contributions of the Hispanic and Latinx communities to the United States. 

Due to Hurricane Florence, this kick-off event has been postponed to a later date. The campus will be notified when the new date is set.
