Elon Academy

Seven years after joining the Elon Academy, a dozen of the first high school students to take part in the university’s college access and success program have earned their college degrees. Brittney Burnette is one of them.

Scholars created service projects and traveled to the nation's capital this summer as they sought solutions to barriers faced by underrepresented and underserved students who dream of attending college.

Prior to a Friday evening closing ceremony, high school scholars in Elon University’s college access and success program shared with family and friends the lessons they will carry with them from their summer experience on campus.

Fourteen high school students in a philosophy course on race, gender and hip-hop visited a Greensboro recording studio Wednesday to create their own album with messages of resilience, hope and equality.

Alamance County high school students were introduced to the campus community in the 8th annual College Coffee held in honor of the Elon Academy.

An effort to showcase both the university's Community Garden and heirloom plants grown by Elon students proved popular, as did delicious strawberry treats.

The final Friday of classes this spring features an opportunity for members of the campus community to enjoy strawberry shortcake, ice cream and other light refreshments at the Elon Community Garden.
