The honor for Yow-Bowden, a visionary basketball coach, administrator and director of athletics, was announced at the 2021 Night of the Phoenix on Friday, Oct. 22, in Schar Center.

Scores of family members visited Elon's campus for a lineup of events for Family Weekend centered on community, culture and cheering on the Phoenix.

The Elon Phoenix men's and women's basketball teams look forward to the upcoming season with big time matchups against the likes of the North Carolina Tar Heels for the men, and the NC State Wolfpack for the women.

During its game against Wofford College to open the football season on Saturday, the university will celebrated 20 years in the stadium made possible through a lead gift from Dusty and Peggy Rhodes.

The longtime Elon leader and benefactor passed away Aug. 21.

The generous commitment brings fundraising for phase one of the project to more than $1.5 million as part of the Elon LEADS Campaign. The renovations will transform Elon’s baseball facility and one of the university’s most successful athletics programs.

Since women's sports gained varsity recognition in 1971, Elon has claimed more than 30 regular season or tournament championships, as well as earning 13 national postseason appearances.

Igaune, an assistant coach for Elon's track and field and cross country teams, will compete in the hammer throw at the Olympics in Tokyo.

All 17 Elon Phoenix teams were represented on the honor roll, which includes student-athletes who achieved at least a 3.0 grade point average during the semester or a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
