Kemei, Ahm Earn CAA Athlete of the Year awards, Elliston is Coach of the Year

The award recognizes one student-athlete in each of 19 CAA sports for representing the highest standards of teamwork, integrity, leadership and sportsmanship in athletic and academic achievements.

Elon will kick off the season on Sept. 4 at Wofford College.

The longtime friend and supporter of the university died June 7 after a long illness.

Three student-athletes from baseball, women's golf and softball will be joining the university's Hall of Fame at the induction ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 6.

The graduating student-athletes were not going to be able to attend Friday's main undergraduate Commencement with the team slated to be in Charleston, S.C., to conclude its regular season.

Then day-long celebration on social media recognized the outstanding achievements of Elon student-athletes this year.

The Phoenix won its third CAA championship out of the past seven seasons and capped off a CAA women’s cross country and women’s track and field title sweep for the first time at the Division I level this season.

This is the second time the program has competed in the NCAA Division 1 Women's Soccer Championship.
