Elon Law professor Steve Friedland delivered a presentation titled "Redesigning Legal Education One Archetypal Structure at a Time," to the faculty of Western Law at The University of Western Ontario in Canada on March 3. Friedland directs the Center for Engaged Learning in the Law at Elon.

At the 2011 joint annual meeting of the Business Law, Corporate Counsel and International Law and Practice Sections of the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA), Elon Law professor Tom Molony delivered the North Carolina Business Law Update. This is the second year in a row that Molony has delivered the Business Law Update, having taken over in 2010 for Wake Forest's Alan Palmiter, who had made the presentation for many years.

Elon Law professor David Levine presented research about the negotiating process for the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement at Boston University School of Law's 2011 Works-in-Progress Intellectual Property Colloquium.

Through in-depth news reports on February 24 and March 2, Elon Law professor Mike Rich described criminal laws applicable in instances of cyberstalking and teen suicide caused by bullying. The segments appeared as part of the WGHP Fox 8 News series titled "The Buckley Report."

At the Loyola University Chicago School of Law's Constitutional Law Colloquium, held November 5 and 6, Elon Law professor Scott Gaylord presented research analyzing recent U.S. Supreme Court cases related to the Establishment Clause in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

The article "How to Reform North Carolina's Tax Code" by Elon Law professor Andy Haile was published in the December 20 edition of State Tax Notes. Haile's article originally appeared in Addendum, an online publication of the North Carolina Law Review.

An article by Elon Law professor Andy Haile has been published in the current issue of the Temple Law Review. Haile's article, "Sin Taxes: When The State Becomes The Sinner," examines increasing state dependence on revenues from taxes on tobacco.
