During its annual awards ceremony, premiered live on social media and streaming apps on May 14, the school recognized high achievement from students, faculty and staff. It also celebrated the tenure of Paul Parsons, founding communications dean, and David Copeland, founding director of the Interactive Media master’s program.

The 30 members of Elon’s Master of Arts in Interactive Media program were honored for their dedication even during uncertain times globally during the program’s virtual degree conferral ceremony on Wednesday, May 20.

The annual event held on May 19 – the evening before the iMedia Commencement ceremony – provided 30 graduate students an opportunity to publicly present their thesis projects, illustrating the culmination of knowledge they obtained during the 10-month program.

Recently named the CCO of energy company Enbridge, Fernandez spoke to students about starting their careers, landing their first job, and trends in the public relations industry.

Twenty-one students attended the 2020 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, interacting with Elon alumni working – and gaining recognition – in the film and entertainment industries.

Led by Associate Professor Amanda Sturgill, two School of Communications students and two Elon alumni shot and edited video and photography at the February event that featured top computer programming students from the United States and Canada.

The public event, set for Wednesday, March 4, will explore today’s cancel culture, the distinction between shame and embarrassment, and the role of media/journalism in public discourse.

The associate professor of communication design participated in a question-and-answer interview examining how the Communication Design Department and Interactive Media graduate program teach UX/UI design to students.

During the initiative’s Nov. 11 dinner, students spoke with the managing partner of KLH & Associates and chairman of The LAGRANT Foundation.

The School of Communications hosted its Careers in Public Relations: Diversity & Inclusion Panel Discussion on Sept. 16, featuring strategic communications professionals and human resources executives from G&S Business Communications, W20 Group, Taylor Strategy, Mower, and Charlotte Pipe and Foundry.
