Kernodle Center for Civic Life

Eighteen members of the Class of 2025 spent close to a week at Elon during July participating in service work in the community and learning more about Elon as they prepare to begin their time at the university.

A name change, a new strategic plan and a new director are positioning the Kernodle Center for Civic Life for even greater community partnerships in the future.

Elon University is celebrating 12 staff members who are retiring after years of dedicated service to the campus community.

The current associate director of the center was chosen following a national search.

The Critical Language Scholarships will give Elon students Sarah Jane McDonald '21 and Holly Cardoza '23 the opportunity to study foreign languages deemed critical to U.S. diplomacy and outreach.

Deutsch is one of Alamance County’s six service year fellows who has been working alongside the Alamance County Health Department to provide support to local residents.

These four awards recognize members of the Elon community for excellence in teaching, scholarship, civic engagement and mentoring.

The event also served as the inauguration of the newly elected leadership of the Student Government Association.

Elon University students and a staff member were recognized for their leadership with awards sponsored by Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society.

The grant from Interfaith Youth Core funds summer internship for Elon students to work with community partners to support local efforts around COVID vaccinations.
