Henry Gabriel represents U.S. at international meetings on electronic commerce, risk management, and securitization

Elon Law professor Henry Gabriel, a United States delegate to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law, recently represented the U.S. at a commission meeting on electronic commerce at the United Nations Center in Vienna, Austria. He also represented the U.S. at two symposia in Rome and delivered presentations in Washington, D.C. and Beijing, China.

Exum appointed as Appellate Specialist in North Carolina

James G. Exum, Jr., Distinguished Jurist in Residence and founding member of Elon's Law School Advisory Board, was appointed Nov. 21 by the North Carolina State Bar as one of the state's first-ever Appellate Practice Specialists.

2011 Intramural Moot Court champions announced

At the Fourth Annual Elon Law Intramural Moot Court Competition, held Nov. 2-7, twenty law students earned an invitation to join the law school's Moot Court Board. Grant Buckner and Chantelle Lytle were the competition champions.

David Levine leads effort to stop passage of PROTECT IP Act

Elon Law professor David Levine, along with Mark Lemley, the William H. Neukom Professor at Stanford Law School, and David G. Post, professor of law at Temple University School of Law, have authored a letter to members of the United States Senate and House of Representatives to urge them to reject the PROTECT IP Act. The letter, now signed by 108 intellectual property and cyberlaw scholars, was sent to members of Congress on July 6.

Elon Law and synerG co-host Local Government Education Series

The three-week series explored regional economic development and the structure of local government, followed by a City Council Candidates Forum presented with The Greensboro Partnership.

Elon Law Review hosts symposium on criminal law enforcement post-9/11

Marking the ten-year anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, the 27-member editorial board of the Elon Law Review welcomed law scholars and criminal law enforcement experts from across the country on Oct. 21 to participate in a symposium titled, "Terrorism's Impact on Criminal Justice: How the Detection, Investigation, and Prosecution of Criminal Activity Has Changed Since 9/11."
