The chapter's annual professional development day included social media activity and an evening program with keynote speaker Molly Hilboldt '09 from CBS Sports.

On June 25, the chapter will host its annual professional development event called "Alumni on the NYC Grind".

The Elon alumnus served as an editor for “The Fourth Estate,” a recently released docu-series about New York Times journalists chronicling the first year of the Trump administration.

The New York City Alumni Chapter hosted more than 120 alumni at the Observatory Deck in the One World Trade Center.

Elon’s student-run radio station hosted a two-day celebration that included a panel discussion, featuring several former WSOE general managers, and a dinner with a keynote from Tom Mullen ’00, vice president of marketing catalog at Atlantic Records. Additionally, Assistant Professor Gerald Gibson was recognized with an Award of Excellence for his years of mentorship.

Strategic communications major Rachel Hobbs ’18 was one of two finalists for the national award, which was presented at the 2018 PRWeek Awards Dinner and Presentation on March 15.

The vice president of marketing catalog at Atlantic Records has expanded his successful website and podcast – both titled “Washed Up Emo” – into a “documentation of stories” from artists and individuals involved in the emotionally charged musical genre that rose from the punk and hardcore scene.

The New York City-based documentary editor was recognized prior to a Nov. 9 screening of “Food Chains,” a 2014 film she edited that highlights agricultural labor in the United States.
