Physical Therapy

Student research poster presentations showcased the Department of Physical Therapy-Athletics Department collaboration by sharing findings on Wednesday November 28th, highlighting points that will help coaches, athletic trainers, and strength and conditioning coaches prevent injuries and improve performance.

Among the attendees at the annual conference was Kaylee Pobocik, a member of the Class of 2019 who was nominated for the director of membership on the APTA's National Student Board of Directors. 

Shefali Christopher, assistant professor of physical therapy education, worked with the athletes at the World Parathriathlon Championship in Iseo, Italy.

Assistant Professor Melissa Scales was joined by four students in the Physician Assistant Studies program in Belize, where they worked with Hillside Health Care International. 

The July 12 ceremony commemorated the lives and contributions of the program’s first nine anatomical donors. 

One third-year, two second-year and two first-year Elon Doctor of Physical Therapy students participated in the conference, bringing home an award, ideas and inspiration.

Bill Andrews, professor of physical therapy education, recently had two articles accepted for publication in peer-reviewed journals. 

At the annual Faculty/Staff Awards Luncheon on May 9, the Elon community honored 12 faculty members who are retiring this year.

Students from the ABSS Career and Technical Education Center learned about the role of biomechanics in understanding and improving human performance on April 11, 2018. Presentations and activities about balance, running, throwing, and jumping showcased biomechanics as an emerging science.

Students and faculty from the Doctor of Physical Therapy program helped organize and participated in this inaugural event.
