Elon's Doctor of Physical Therapy program was represented well at the American College of Sports Medicine 2017 Conference in Denver, CO. Haley Hawkins, a 2nd year DPT student also won a travel scholarship at the Conference.

Doctor of Physical Therapy Education faculty Janet M. Cope and Mary Kay Hannah and Physician Assistant student Mackenzie Precht along with Physical Therapy students Amy Klinepeter and Brooke Powell recently published a manuscript about the use of human donors in PT anatomy education in the Journal of Physical Therapy Education. 

​Doctor of Physical Therapy Education faculty Mary Kay Hannah and Janet M. Cope and students Alec Palermo, Walker Smith and Val Wacker published a manuscript related to dry needling of the lumbar multifidus in Manual Therapy. 

Nita Skillman was honored with the Emerging Leader Award at the Association of Standardized Patient Educators (ASPE) 2017 Annual Conference on Sunday, June 4.

Carleigh High, Chris Scott, Kellie Ruffer and Chris Antonelli and Joanna Bayliss along with Professor Janet M. Cope recently published manuscripts in the International Journal of Anatomical Variations. 

Nita Skillman and Charity Johansson presented a workshop, “Advanced Training of Standardized Patients for Dementia Care”, at the 2017 Association of Standardized Patient Educators (ASPE) annual conference in Alexandria, Virginia.

At the annual Faculty/Staff Lunch on May 10, the Elon community honored six faculty members who are retiring his year. 

Experimental Biology is the annual meeting of six societies comprised of more than 14,000 scientists and 50 guest societies.

The recent Global Education Symposium hosted by Elon's Center for Research on Global Engagement and the Doctor of Physical Therapy program brought experts to campus to talk about effective and collaborative global education initiatives. 

The article, which describes a case study of a patient treated using physical therapy and musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging, appears in the April 2017 edition of the Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Practice journal
