Inspired by her sister’s recovery, Carmencita Rosales ’20 discovered her passion for storytelling at Elon and turned it into a thriving career as a bilingual journalist and TV host. From launching WSOE’s first Spanish-language show to creating Tu Cita con Carmencita, she brings energy, resilience and representation to every story she tells.

Guided by curiosity and a passion for storytelling, Lillian Engel ’19 turned her love of editing at Elon into a thriving Hollywood career. From campus projects to major films like "Extraction" and "Joker: Folie à Deux," she embodies the power of hands-on learning, persistence and community.

At the nation’s largest college media convention, held this fall in Washington, D.C., Elon journalism students earned multiple honors recognizing their reporting and creative work.

As part of its 25th anniversary celebration during Homecoming Weekend, the School of Communications honored Wilson for her accomplishments as a showrunner and writer in Hollywood. The milestone event also reflected on the school’s transformation over 25 years – from its early beginnings to a nationally respected program known for producing industry-ready graduates.

The Elon alumnus’ passion for “America’s pastime” and flair for storytelling have made him one of the brightest rising voices in professional baseball.

Elon junior Ethan Wu worked alongside School of Communications faculty members Amanda Sturgill and Randy Piland in Baku, Azerbaijan, as part of a production team documenting one of the world’s most prestigious programming competitions.

The Army West Point Athletics staff member – and former sport management major – collaborated with School of Communications faculty members Young Do Kim and Cara Lucia to offer marketing-based strategies, case challenges, and teaching resources to help sports-related organizations meet evolving audience expectations.

High school sweethearts, Rachel and David Campbell '13, credit Elon’s scholarships and hands-on experiences with shaping their lives. Now, through the Catanese and Gardner Families Internship Endowment, they’re helping current students overcome financial barriers to pursue life-changing internships.

Elon alumna Michelle Leibel ’14 has weathered the highs and lows of Hollywood, from short-lived shows to breakthrough moments. Now, as co-executive producer of CBS’s critically acclaimed ‘Matlock’ revival, she’s turning resilience and hard work into success.
