School of Communications Alumni

Gilgo graduated with a double major in journalism and strategic communications and a double minor in psychology and leadership studies.

During an Oct. 20 award presentation, the executive producer for WUSA9, a CBS affiliate in Washington, D.C., challenged his fellow alumni and current students “to build a space for people who are not like you.”

The sport management major and Elon women’s soccer player served as a marketing operations intern in New York City.

Callie Crew ’15 and Jeffrey Cook ’15 are the textbook definition of a power couple. Excelling in different careers, they exemplify how Elon students can find success through varied experiences that lead to opportunities in a range of career fields.

The Elon alumna produced a documentary, titled “Not Without a Trace,” for her BFA thesis project, and the film is set to screen at two upcoming film festivals in North Carolina.

Twelve students are enrolled in the new Elon in Charlotte Regional Center this fall, participating in the university’s sport management immersive semester and gaining real-world experience with the Atlantic Coast Conference, NASCAR, Fox Sports and other Charlotte-based organizations.

The Elon alumnus, who has worked at The New York Times since 2021, recently joined the publication’s Culture desk, where he will focus on pop culture news and the intersection of sports and culture.

College roommates turned lifelong friends, Horbatuck and Orfe formed Driftline, a water sport activewear company.

The annual conference held this summer in the nation's capital provided an opportunity for School of Communications faculty to showcase their areas of research, interest and expertise.

Following an all-star caliber season with the Burlington Sock Puppets, the sport management major was recently recognized for his contributions to the community during the 2023 season.
