The cinema and television arts major recently won a film contest celebrating the stories of African Americans and the positive impact they have made in Guilford County communities.

The journalism major is applying what she learned on campus and during her internships in a full-time role as a digital content producer at WCPO 9 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Ryan Kupperman ’25, Donelle Leak ’25 and Isabel Gouveia ’24 produced video and social media content at the 46th and 47th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals, the globe’s oldest, largest and most prestigious programming competition.

The Elon graduate and current Courier-Journal intern spent nearly two weeks at Churchill Downs chronicling the lead up and photo finish of the “Run for the Roses.”

The Elon alumna wrote and directed “Incomplete” for her cinema & television arts BFA thesis project, and the film won Best Student Short at the monthly festival in Los Angeles.

Max Wallace ’26, Brendan Antrosiglio ’23, and a student group in the Interactive Media graduate program all earned second-place awards in the Broadcast Education Association’s 2024 Festival of Media Arts.

Assistant Professors Kai Swanson and Matthew Blomberg led students to Hollywood and Park City, Utah, during Winter Term for an immersion experience into the film and entertainment industries.
