Accompanied by Assistant Professor of Communication Design Shannon Zenner, five Elon University students attended what is billed as the “premier conference for the design community.”

Led by faculty members David Bockino and Colin Donohue, 25 first-year Fellows and two senior Fellows traveled to Atlanta Oct. 21-22 to visit several well-known companies and sports venues, including Delta Air Lines headquarters, Jackson Spalding PR agency, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena.

The sport management and marketing double major served as a key figure with the Aug. 27 celebratory event to commemorate the MLB franchise’s 60th anniversary season.

Holley, a broadcast journalism graduate, is now a Minorities in Sports Fellow with Tepper Sports & Entertainment and works with the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Football Club in a variety of behind-the-scenes roles.

Diemer worked as a hero graphic artist on the late-night Emmy-winning show.

The associate professor of sport management and Elon alumna co-wrote “Jumping Through Hoops: Differences in Marketing Men’s and Women’s Basketball on Twitter,” an article recently published in the Journal of Contemporary Athletics.

In conjunction with the Student Professional Development Center, the School of Communications hosted the COMM/SPT Meet & Greet on Sept. 20, attracting a dozen organizations – both in-person and virtually – representing a variety of communications and sports-related industries.

The Communications Fellows program prevails following two COVID-impacted years to lead trips to Atlanta, Orlando and Tampa, Miami and Washington, D.C.

Eleven years after landing an internship with the NCAA Division I conference, the Elon alumnus takes on a new title and will continue facilitating Olympic sports regular season events and championships.

Findley offered a "Lessons from Leaders" presentation to a crowded LaRose Digital Theatre in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business on Tuesday, Sept. 14.
