Assistant Professor of Anthropology Jennifer Carroll received the Rudolf Virchow Professional Prize from the Society for Medical Anthropology's Critical Anthropology for Global Health committee.

Cameron Mullins ’21, Hannaleigh Pierce ’21 and Mackenzie Martinez ’21 presented their research on student perceptions of drug and alcohol safety policies at Elon at the joint meeting of the American Anthropological Association and the Canadian Anthropology Society in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The recent Elon graduate’s Lumen and Fulbright research was accepted for publication in the BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth journal.

The Sustainability Faculty Scholars program identifies, supports and recognizes faculty who are interested in incorporating or enhancing a focus on sustainable principles and practices in their courses.

His research is based on two data sets: one about the resettlement experiences of refugees in North Carolina and another about the solidarity networks that support the entrepreneurship of Ethiopians and Eritreans in Washington D.C.

The series was developed by Assistant Professor Jennifer Carroll in connection with her "Citizenship in Crisis" course.

The series, titled (the) Local Matters, will feature speakers with expertise in policy, public health, law enforcement, criminal justice, prevention services and clinical care.

The forum, co-sponsored by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Bureau of Justice Administration, was held in Washington, D.C., in August.

Planning Week marks the start of the academic year and provides an opportunity for faculty receiving funding from the Faculty Research and Development Committee to present their work.  

Five faculty members were honored on Monday, Aug. 19, for their excellent work in Elon College, the College of Arts & Sciences.
