From national conference presentations to industry-driven research projects, students in Elon’s Sports Media Lab are gaining hands-on experience with major sport organizations.

The recent Elon graduate and sport management professor co-published a peer-reviewed study, analyzing attendance factors in the National Women’s Soccer League.

The Sports Media Lab Student Spotlight profiles the lab’s seniors and their work. This spotlight is focused on Anthony Bamford '25, a media analytics major with minors in sport management and statistics. 

Media analytics major Heath Foster '24 used his senior year to translate his passion for sports analytics into multiple undergraduate research projects, several presentations, and some good news for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

Titled “Game On: How Sports Media Grew Up, Sold Out, and Got Personal with Billions of Fans,” Bockino’s book – published on April 1 – is the first comprehensive, general audience history of the sports media industry.
